5 Goals To Add To Your New Year Skincare Resolution List

Every year, this is how it goes. You vow to take good care of your skin, exercise and eat a nutritious meal. But, in the end, it's back to square one with sleeping with makeup on, having one too many cheat days, and sitting back as a couch potato.

Now, you're not the first to admit to not taking New Year skincare resolutions seriously. We totally get you! But, to help get your skin in shape for the upcoming year in a breeze, here are a few tips and tricks. So, are you ready to take a trip down memory lane?

New Year Skincare Resolutions

1. No More SPF FOMO!

Left your house again without dabbing on some SPF? Let's face it. We've not done it justice as much as we should. But, there's always room for change.

As one of your new year resolution ideas, update your 2023 morning skincare routine with a good SPF to protect your skin from the sun's harmful UV rays. If you're always on the go, don't forget to drop it in your bag to top up your skin.

2. Keep It Clean N'Real

Everytime you go out shopping for skincare or makeup, you're constantly bombarded with eye-catching visuals of phrases like 100% natural or chemical-free. Now, clean beauty has been the talk of the town for a long time. But, did it ever occur to you what it truly stands for?

There's no such thing as chemical-free. It's just a marketing gimmick that people fall prey to. When we say clean beauty, we don't refer to it being chemical-free or 100% natural. Instead, we want you to figure out the right ingredients for your skin.

Don't alter your skincare routine just for trending ingredients & skincare trends 2023. Another point to add to your new year skin care resolutions is to read & learn about them, and what they can do for your skin.

And that's exactly what we do at Bayla. Our skincare range is packed with the goodness of nature & science to give you the best of both worlds. Plus, we disclose the goodness of our ingredients, as well as our toxic friends so that you know exactly what's in and what's out.

In short, the game of skincare is all about learning the tactics of good-for-you ingredients and playing with them on your skin.

3. Take The Makeup Off Before You Hit The Sheets

Tell us honestly! Did you ever feel like skipping your skincare regime & hopping into bed? If you have, don't worry! We've all done that at some point.

But, with the new year just days away, I think it's time for you to implement a few changes. One of your new year resolutions 2023 could be to remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. Why? Well, because it can do your skin more harm than good if you don’t.

In fact, several renowned dermatologists have proven that sleeping with makeup on can degrade collagen production, intensify premature signs of ageing, cause clogged pores that result in acne, as well as hinder the natural exfoliation process of your skin causing a dry & dull skin complexion.

To avoid the long list of skincare concerns with makeup, the answer is simple! Just take it off before you go to bed.

4. Harness The Power of Healthy Habits

After those indulgent Christmas delicacies, we all look a lil' bit sallow. That's why it's time for a habit switcheroo! It's not just about topical products you use on your skin. Giving your skin the care it needs also comes from the habits you choose. This new year, make it a point to eat healthily, exercise to get your endorphins up and running and maintain a proper sleep cycle.

You might be wondering how in the world can you do this with the fast-paced hustles and bustles of everyday life. That's why we recommend you start slow. Try working out at least twice or thrice a week if not every day. If you've got those late-night cravings, treat yourself to one cheat day per week. Plus, don't forget to keep yourself hydrated for that soft, plump skin all day every day.

5. Keep It Simple!

The last but not least point on the list of new year skincare resolutions is to keep your skincare routine to a minimal one. We've seen people who overdo it when it comes to skincare. With over-masking and over-exfoliating, people do all sorts of things in pursuit of soft, glowing skin.

But, what they don't realise is that too many ingredients, and they've got themselves cribbing about redness, skin sensitivity, damaged skin barrier and a whole other lot of skincare concerns.

Nope. Not anymore. For the new year, try using limited skincare products. Remember that the key to healthy skin is using a few ingredients and products to get the job done in a jiffy.

It's time to ring in the New Year with a new skincare resolution 2023. Remember, sometimes all we need is a fresh start. So, let your new skincare adventure begin! 2023, here we come!

You didn’t try to stretch the truth or make something up just to fill space. Instead, you were honest and upfront about what you didn’t know. It made me to consider the blog worth for reading time and skincare routine too.
